 In keeping with Tarte's eco-friendly efforts, the company has partnered with Sambazon, the global leader in Açaí. Sambazon manufactures and sells organic Açaí consumer products in the form of juices, smoothies, and supplements. The company also supplies wholesale Açaí puree to the worldwide industrial market. Tarte donated their 2007 holiday gift budget to Sambazon's Sustainable Açaí Project (SAP) and will continue to make contributions throughout the year.  Sambazon created the Sustainable Açaí Project (SAP) in 2003 as an initiative to promote positive change in the Amazon Rainforest through forest conservation, improved living conditions, and educational opportunities through the sustainable management of the Açaí Palm tree. The SAP focuses efforts on research and specific Biosocial Indicators to evaluate environmental, social, and financial impact to the region, also development and implementation of programs aimed at adding value to the forest and local community.
