I will say that the clamp is on the stronger side, but once you've got used to maneuvering it I think its easier than other curling irons....The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars and the main reason of why I am contemplating returning it is because the clamp is very tight and it is somewhat difficult to smoothly roll hair through it, as compared to my previous curling irons.
