CONTOURING MAGIC:
HOW TO CONTOUR YOUR OVAL-SHAPED FACE

Oval-shaped faces are generally one-and-a-half times longer than they are wide. Contouring is used to create a more balanced ratio. Use contour products that minimize your forehead while emphasizing the center of your face. Conjure light and shadows in the blink of an eye.

STEP ONE
Highlight the high points of your face. For an oval-shaped face, first apply highlighter in a half-circle shape on your forehead. Then, sweep it under the eyes, down the nose, outside the nostrils, on the chin, on the outside corners of your mouth, and on the outside of your jaw.

STEP TWO
Choose a contour color that's not warm or shimmery. Use the angled side of your brush to apply your contour into the hollows of your cheeks. Then contour under the jaw, on the outside of the forehead, and down the sides of the nose.

STEP THREE
Blend. Start at the inner corner of your eyes and work your way out and around. Blend the highlighter out first and the contour in second, until there are no harsh lines.

STEP FOUR
Finish with a translucent powder. Use a pressing motion so you don't sweep any of your makeup away. Make sure you hit your T-zone and under your eyes, as those spots tend to get the oiliest.
