CONTOURING MAGIC:
HOW TO CONTOUR YOUR SQUARE-SHAPED FACE

Square-shaped faces feature temples, cheekbones, and jawline forming a straight line and sitting equidistant from the center of the face. Contouring is used to promote the appearance of roundness and softness. Use contour products that play down your harsher, more angular features. Summon cheekbones out of thin air with enchanting products.

STEP ONE
Highlight the high points of your face. For a square-shaped face, draw three lines in the center of your forehead, down your nose, on your chin, and around your eyes and temples.

STEP TWO
Contour to offset your highlighter. Choose a brown shade with a cool gray or taupe undertone. Drag the contour under the jawline, in the hollows of your cheekbones, and on the sides of your nose.

STEP THREE
Use a pressing motion to blend the products together. Start with the highlighter, as it's easier to blend the contour into the lightness. Use an upward sweeping motion to blend the contour into the highlighter and diffuse any harsh lines.

STEP FOUR
Finish with a translucent powder. Use a pressing motion so you don't sweep any of your makeup away. Make sure you hit your T-zone and under your eyes, as those spots tend to get the oiliest.
