The original scent from Eight & Bob features Andrea, a plant brand founder Albert Fouquet found in the Andes during a trip to Chile. The extracts of this plant are the soul of perfume Eight & Bob. Andrea is scarce because of the height and the small area where it flourishes. It can only be collected during the months of December and January. From the total collected plants, only a very rigorous selection is used, around seven percent. This process is completed between the months of March and April and it is only then that the number of units of Eight & Bob that can be packed and allocated to each country is known.
Sadly Albert Fouquet died in a fatal car accident, but the petitions for more perfumes from the US kept arriving from close friends and family members of JFK to some Hollywood Actors. These demands were satisfied by Philippe, Mr. Fouquet’s butler, who hid the bottles from the Nazis inside carefully die cut books. During World War II, Philippe had to abandon his work as butler for the Fouquet Family and the perfume remained frozen in time. Today the packaging of the original Eight & Bob is featured in inside a book recalling its rich history.
What else you need to know:
The bottle is hidden in a book and is limited in production, just as it was long ago.
When John F Kennedy met Albert Fouquet in the French Riviera, he was intrigued by this hand-crafted scent. He made a quirky request for eight samples and "another one for Bob". Today, the scent is still preferred by the world's most classic men. This family story has been passed down verbally, and contains fictionalized facts and characters.
