I highly recommend. I use this as a wand and just wear a heat protector glove and I wrap pieces of my hair around the barrel and it works excellent!...I like to use it most frequently as a curling wand and find that because it's not fully smooth like a wand would be, my hair doesn't easily unwrap before I'm ready and it leaves a beautiful wave style curl.
