Any suggestions as to how to get the roller-ball to work?

I know when I first received mine I was rolling and rolling it on but nothing was coming out so I took a pair of scissors and popped the little ball out but be careful it doesn�  t go flying so be careful than I tipped it over to get some of the oil into the top there than I replaced the ball back and it worked a whole lot better but do note it doesn�  t come out a lot at a time anyway it releases slowly because I guess it�  s because it�  s a thicker oil which is a good thing.
