Can I use this on dry hair before straightening? I am looking for heat protection before I use a straightener or curling iron. I don't blow dry my hair before I style it with a curler or straightener.

So the product is not for dry hair, it is specifically made for damp hair and is made to be combed or brushed through detangled hair before blow drying and eventual styling. When used this way it does protect up 450 degrees. I don't think it works on just dry hair and styling.
