Is this different enough from the mini paddle boar brush to get both. I hoped the paddle would be good for normal brushing and distributing oils-- love it but it's really only for smoothing so considering this

Yes this one has nylon bristles mixed in,boar mixed with l ball tip bristles. It’s for regular detangling and brushing. Other one is for slick backs, it’s too dense to brush hair regularly unless a specific hair type it could work.
