Is this shampoo meant to be used once weekly? Monthly? Every wash? It being a toning and chelating formula, I just don't want to go overboard. Thanks!

Purple shampoo typically doesn’t “clean” your hair. (Yeah-surprised me too!) It’s mainly for depositing a toning shade- that’s about it.

This being a chelating formula is pretty interesting. (I’m not a stylist, but have been doing the platinum thing forever. Your stylist will be the ultimate authority as they know all the naughty stuff we do to our hair.) But maybe it’s cleansing?

To answer your question, I use it as an as needed product. I use my purple shampoo about once maybe twice a week. It depends on whether or not I’ve been mean to it or fairly easy. I’ll get “brassy,” and just feel like I need to lighten and freshen.

I notice that my other products don’t seem to be working as well. That’s definitely a time to do a clarifying shampoo and get out all the guck even my regular shampoo doesn’t touch.

I usually do clarify, then purple, then finish with a mask.
