Hi!
I just put some product on my fingertips and massage into my scalp and, if I need more product, I just add a little more and massage it into my scalp.
(I love it! I happened to see your question because I'm on here to repurchase it!)

It's also extremely easy to rinse out!

So, you can either apply and massage the product into your scalp with your fingertips...or you can purchase a Scalp Massager to massage the product into your scalp - either way is perfect fine!
