For my hair type (4A-4B) I would probably use this more for my protective hair styles, and the Strong Hold Gel for longer lasting defined curls....Moisturizing, but not enough hold for thick curls...I decided to try after loving the strong hold gel from this brand, but it provides nowhere near as much hold or definition for very thick 3c/4a curls.
