it is sweet and somewhat boozy when first applied. on the dry down it becomes a softer, sweet vanilla scent. the biggest downside to this fragrance is that it isn’t long lasting. i find myself reapplying every few hours...However, as it gets darker, it gets pretty boozy and almost alcoholy-smelling? A very nice sweet wine, boozy, woody fragrance!! This is class and very masculine!!! ...PREFER THIS FOR COLD WEATHER - BUT GREAT FRAGRANCE...It's heavier than many of the other best selling fragrances. I rarely recommend a fragrance because everyone's body chemistry is different and fragrances smell differently on each person.
